Truncheon

Due to boredom and the need to get hammered we created this brew. Joey wanted to call it 'The Day Lucifer Fell From Heaven', but I thought that it sounded a bit pussy, and so changed it to Truncheon, named after the feeling you get waking up the next morning being akin to a severe beating by the rozzers.

Ingredients: 1 litre vodka
approx. 70 of 'alcopops' ($112) - various flavours
1 litre Lemonade
1 bucket
Method: Add the alcopops to the bucket, being careful not to pour from too great a height (splash wastage is criminal). Make sure that each alcopop to be added will not spoil the overall flavour. To avoid this try each one before pouring it in, and also try the mixture frequently (but make sure you have some left by the end, you little guzzlers!)

Add the bottle of vodka

Add the lemonade to taste, this is to increase the amount of mix and also to speed the acohol in to your system.

Stir frequently, but gently.

Serves: Approx 10 pints (maybe more, but we can't remember)
Style: Fill a pint glass with Truncheon and drink the first and last pints through straws.
Optional extras: Ice
Advice: When purchasing the alcopops, ensure that none are too overpowering and that they compliment each other well. For example, strawberry 'pops often overpower the other flavours; and would you really want to put a cola and coffee flavour in with fruity alcopops? - I thought not.

If you have time chill the ingredients first.

If wary of the vodka spoiling the taste at the end, you can add some or all the bottle in the beginning, although this makes tasting in the early stages a little bit suspect, and at the end of the day the whole bottle has to go in so just get on with it.

Alternatives: Substitute vodka for any white spirit (that's spirits that are clear, not white spirit as in spirit that will kill you if drunk). Also try adding flavoured vodka, but be careful not to use one that is too overpowering. Citrus vodka would work well, as would white rum. Liquers can also be used, such as cherry brandy. Pimms, Sloanes, or any fruity spirit type drink can be used instead or as an accompniment to the alcopops.

Any fizzy drink can be used, just make sure it fits in the flavour theme you have chosen. For example, Cola would not really work with a very fruity mix.

Effect: As consumption increases the following effects can be experienced, but in no particular order.

Blindness
Inability to walk
Vomitting
Inability to communicate
Loss of hearing
Temporary paralysis of random muscle groups
Everything appears to be 'nuff joke
Increased confidence
Increase/decrease in horn
Complete shut down of nervous system
Massive increase in energy, resulting in 'missions'
Need to cotch
